Shuffle Says: No Shuffle today. I went ahead and treated myself to a couple new albums for writing. Today it’s It was Written by Nas.

Today I’m putting out another set of links to cover some ground over the past few weeks I’ve been gone. I’ll post a new rant tomorrow.

[REVISION/NOTE: The articles mentioned as well as my response to it were written before Chelsea came out. Comments here reflect name/pronouns at the time of the trial/article publication.]

Molly Crabapple has been all over the place. Covering the Bradley Manning trial as well as taking a trip to Guantanamo bay. One of the reasons I follow Crabapple is her wherewithal to follow-up on stories and her persistence in fighting for even the unknown ‘Hacktivists’. Her coverage of the Manning trial is just the latest installment of trial work which has included Jeremy Hammond, Barrett Brown and Andrew “Weev” Auernheimer.
Her sketches of the trial appeared in The Paris Review and her written word reporting “The Bradley Manning Truth Battalion” was picked up by The Guardian after being commissioned by the Creative Times Reports.  Her coverage of Guantanamo “It Don’t GITMO Better than This” for Vice got her a segment on The Huffington Post . (The Huffpo piece is a video for y’all too lazy to read the article).
Also New York Magazine did a profile on her regarding her upcoming memoirs.

Some good/bad news in porn/free speech: the Independent keeps up their coverage of Prime Minister David Cameron’s war on porn, while Yahoo, underestimating how much people like porn, slows slinks away from their attacks on adult content blogs.

Certain individuals have been trying to blaming the whole Treyvon Martin nonsense on Black culture. Jay Smooth takes on Don Lemon and Chris Hayes takes on Bill O’Riley and deliver some well-needed schoolings. So if you’ve been hating on the ‘black establishment’, Al Sharpton, or saggy pants in the wake of the George Zimmerman trial, you should take a quick look at these.

Finally, Motherboard reports on corruption in FISA courts and the NSA.
