National Poems

Posted: 24 March, 2015 in Daily Droppings, Uncategorized

I popped in to Julius Meinyl this morning to exchange drinks for poetry in celebration of National Poetry day. This is what I wrote for them

ON THE PERILS OF THE PERFECT MORNING BISCUIT

I watch it balanced on the edge and break
crumble
like empires
drowned
and sweetand buried at the bottom of my tea

It’s posted on their counter in case you have any desire to steal it.
